I'LL GIVE YOU ALL MY LOVE

Aneta Michniak

Aneta Michniak’s photo series I’ll Give You All My Love unfolds on the traditional territory of the W̱SÁNEĆ peoples, situated in what is now southern Vancouver Island, British Columbia. The W̱SÁNEĆ (pronounced “wh-saanich”) are part of the Coast Salish nations, whose ancestral lands encompass lush coastal ecosystems, rich in biodiversity and deeply tied to their cultural heritage.

Set against the backdrop of Heartfelt Farm, the series delves into the therapeutic relationships between children, animals, and the natural world. Through her lens, Michniak highlights the farm as a sanctuary where compassion and mutual respect create an environment of healing. These interactions underscore the possibility of harmonious coexistence, offering a quiet but profound meditation on the shared bonds that transcend species.

Michniak’s distinctive style—marked by vibrant color palettes and an attention to subtle emotional details—brings a nuanced perspective to the connections she documents. With heritage rooted in Poland, an education in British Columbia, and experiences from global travels, her photographic approach blends cultural sensitivity with an intuitive grasp of place.

In I’ll Give You All My Love, Michniak combines her affinity for natural environments with the complex histories embedded in the land she photographs. By situating her work within the context of the W̱SÁNEĆ territory, she draws attention to the deep-rooted traditions of stewardship and interconnectedness that define the region, inviting viewers to consider the broader implications of coexistence in our shared ecosystems.
