TERRA ALTA

Gaia Anselmi Tamburini

In her latest photographic series, Gaia Anselmi Tamburini captures the essence of Terra Alta, a permaculture haven nestled in the heart of Portugal. With a talent for weaving environmental narratives through her lens, Tamburini’s project offers her unique interpretation of local natural, seeking to highlight the textures, colors, and patterns that define this unique environment.

Over the course of two weeks, Tamburini immersed herself in the rhythms of Terra Alta, documenting the symbiotic relationship between nature and human hands. Her photographs, marked by their quiet sensitivity, invite the viewer to engage with the intricate beauty of natural ecosystems that thrive without disruption. Each image is a homage to the delicate balance maintained by Terra Alta’s residents—where permaculture is not just a practice but a way of life.
