IDDU, AN EOLIAN STORY

Frida Vasas
“Iddu” is a personal contemplative exploration of masculinity, shaped by the unique socio-environmental context of a remote volcanic island. The slow-paced narrative centers on young fishermen, reimagined through the emotional lens of the female artist.

Frida Vasas envisions a modern masculinity rooted in emotional depth — a quiet strength shaped by introspection, and empathyd. In this sunlit landscape, men are no longer bound by stoicism. They navigate sensitivity and responsibility with natural confidence.

Frida Vasas
Frida is a self-taught Hungarian photographer, whose passion for the medium was sparked by an unexpected journey to the volcanic island of Stromboli.
Her photographic practice is a journey into the complexities of the human experience, with a profound focus on exploring our inner dimensions. Rooted in the belief that place and space can influence our sense of self, her work examines how natural environments, cultural traditions, and inherited dynamics leave their imprint on our personality and contemporary life.
In 2025, Frida was selected for the Fresh Eyes Talent annual publication powered by GUP, which also included a group exhibition at Haute Photographie Rotterdam.
