In the From Africa with Love series, Jean-Claude Moschetti explores the poetry and depth of images, incorporating elements of time and memory. Drawing on 20 years of photographic experience, he captures a parallel world of magic and mystery in parts of West Africa, particularly Benin. Moschetti uses documentary and fiction techniques to blur the boundaries between reality and imagination. He excels at concealing the real in the unreal, encouraging the public to look beyond the superficial and relearn the art of observation.

The works skilfully incorporate elements of West African voodoo culture, a source of inspiration for the artist, but also an expression of his quest for childhood, poetry and spirituality. He interweaves the tangible and the intangible, standing on the border between the visible and the invisible, the real and the imaginary. This series plunges the public into a dreamlike world. They experience the interweaving of time, memories and images. They discover the deep and unique charm of the African continent.

The series brings together photographs taken between 2001 and 2023 in different parts of West Africa, in Benin, Burkina Faso, Mali, Sierra Leone, Guinea, Nigeria and Côte d’Ivoire.
