Nepal daily

Noah Gallagher

Shot over a solo journey through Nepal, this series traces the tension between chaos and calm, revealing the country’s layered energy through intimate, everyday moments.

Following words by Noah Gallagher.

Captured during my time travelling through Nepal, these images explore the energy and beauty of different moments across a variety of landscapes. Travelling alone helped me stay present, moving instinctively between Kathmandu’s intensity and the remote calm of the Himalayas. The work focuses on small, temporal moments that reflect everyday rhythms of life.

The diversity I experienced ran deep through the culture. In Kathmandu, witnessing Hindu river cremations at the Bagmati offered a perspective on death far more open than what I had seen in Western cultures. The city carried a layered energy: vibrant colours, dense streets, and a tangible spirituality woven through daily life. I also befriended a 19-year-old local Buddhist who shared meals with me, opening the city through his eyes and giving me insight into religious life and youth culture.

In the Himalayan villages, the rhythm shifted. Isolation shaped daily life, but strong local connections remained. Life moved slower, tied closely to the land, with a deep sense of community woven through the remoteness.
